Ascoli Piceno’s boarding operation specializes in the lay-up of thoroughbreds in training. Our property is adjacent to New Bolton Center, the world renowned equine clinic of the University of Pennsylvania, so proximity to world-class veterinary care is one of the major benefits of boarding with us. Thoroughbreds who are recovering from injury or surgery find a peaceful and salubrious environment at Ascoli Piceno Farm where older “baby sitter” horses are available to calm and sooth skittish thoroughbreds in the stable, turn out pens, and pastures.

Adjacent farms, also owned by the Manfredi family, are used for thoroughbred retirement where horses that have permanent physical limitations or have gotten to a certain age can live out their lives in bucolic serenity with continued healthcare and plenty of company. Access to natural water sources, shaded pastures, acres of rolling hills, and out sheds for shelter from heat and cold are all part of the retirement package.
